Frequently asked questions
What is Making Tax Digital?
MTD is HMRC's requirement to keep digital records and submit returns through compatible software, rather than manual or spreadsheet-based filing. It already applies to VAT and is extending to income tax self-assessment.
Which software is MTD-compatible?
We work with established cloud platforms including Xero, QuickBooks and Zoho Books, and can set up bridging software where a spreadsheet-based process needs to stay MTD-compliant.
When does MTD for income tax apply to me?
MTD for income tax is being phased in for self-employed individuals and landlords above set income thresholds. We confirm your start date and get your records ready in advance.
